White Vinegar

Though renowned for its surface cleaning properties, White Vinegar is also an incredibly effective stain remover. Acetic acid, White Vinegar’s active ingredient, cuts through tough dirt & grime.

How to use White Vinegar

Toilets 

Try putting some bicarbonate of soda first 2 tablespoons, then equal amount white vinegar down the plughole and leave it to dissolve slowly by adding some hot water (not boiling!) Do this once a week. It will help dissolve grease and prevent the build-up which can lead to blockages.

Bicarbonate of Soda will also help to keep the drain clear and deodorise it. some bicarbonate of soda down mixed with white vinegar to clean , freshen and prevent blockages. 

Bicarbonate of soda mixed with white vinegar can also be used to clean toilet brushes.

Oven  / cooking  trays 

Simply spray white vinegar , then  shake bicarbonate of soda directly onto the dirty greasy area. Leave the area for at least  30minutes (some prefer left overnight) before washing rinsing off with hot water and a sponge. 

Bicarbonate of sodas alkaline properties mixed with white vinegar acidic properties will make a fizz sound , breaking down the grime and grease in your oven. 

In hard to reach areas, spray an old toothbrush with White Vinegar and scrub .

 

Sponges 

Freshen them up and get rid of greasiness by soaking them in a basin of hot water and bicarbonate of soda (for 10-15mins) .

 

Shower curtains 

Remove limescale and watermarks from shower screens by spraying on some White Vinegar. Leave this to treat for 10 minutes. Then simply wipe or rinse away the White Vinegar for sparkling clear glass.

To get to hard to reach areas, spray an old toothbrush with White Vinegar and scrub the affected sections.

 

Mirrors 

Simply spray and wipe the surface ,buff to a shine. Equal white vinegar to water

Window Cleaner

Combine white vinegar with equal water and use it to clean windows and glass surfaces, leaving them streak-free. Use newspaper instead of paper towels for a lint-free shine.

 

Stains 

White Vinegar acts as an effective stain removal aid on stubborn stains. Simply spray it onto the affected area, leave to soak for 30 minutes and wash as usual.Warning in some fabrics vinegar can lift the colour if soaked etc..best patch test on a small area first.

 

Fabric Softener 

White Vinegar is a great cheap alternative to expensive toxic fragranced fabric softeners. 

Simply use it in place of your regular softener for fresh, soft laundry. White Vinegar is a natural deodoriser and don’t worry, there’s no residual vinegar smell once washed away  ! The chip shop smell only lasts 20seconds -get over it !!

 

Odour on clothing 

White Vinegar is an effective, natural deodoriser that neutralises the odour on clothes and other surfaces.

Deodorant stains are difficult to remove, but acidic products like White Vinegar  can dissolve the aluminium salts in the stain.

To neutralise odours on clothing, simply spray White Vinegar liberally over the item, paying particular attention to the most affected areas (such as underarms). Leave the clothes for 10-15 minutes before washing according to the garment care instructions.

Carpet Stains

Blot stubborn stains on carpets and rugs with a white vinegar-water solution.

Test on a small, hidden area first to ensure it doesn't affect the colour.

 Dingy Whites

Soak white clothes in white vinegar for cleaning to brighten them up

Shine Stainless Steel

Wipe stainless steel appliances and surfaces with white vinegar for a streak-free shine

Remove Wallpaper

Mix white vinegar and hot water to create a wallpaper removal solution.

Pet Care

Remove pet stains and odours with a white vinegar and water solution.

Remove Sticker Residue

Apply white vinegar for cleaning to sticker residue to make it easier to remove.
