How to use Bicarbonate of Soda
Blocked Sinks
Try putting some bicarbonate of soda first , then white vinegar down the plughole and leave it to dissolve slowly by adding some hot water (not boiling!) Do this once a week. It will help dissolve grease and prevent the build-up which can lead to blockages. Bicarbonate of Soda will also help to keep the drain clear and deodorise it.

Toilets
Flush some bicarbonate of soda down mixed with white vinegar to clean , freshen and prevent blockages.
Bicarbonate of soda mixed with white vinegar can also be used to clean toilet brushes.
Sponges
Freshen them up and get rid of greasiness by soaking them in a basin of hot water and bicarbonate of soda (for 10-15mins) .
Bins
Keep your waste bins smelling fresh by sprinkling Bicarbonate of Soda. Do this regularly, or each time you empty and clean the bin.
Deodorising
Bicarbonate of Soda absorbs odours. To keep your room (especially bathrooms) smelling fresh without using toxic chemicals , place a bowl of bicarb in the room.
Have a room that smells horribly of fragranced toxic chemicals or a musty wardrobe , get the windows open and place some bowls of bicarbonate of soda around to absorb the hidden nasties that we cannot see in the air . Replace the bowl every so often

Shower curtain
Clean and deodorise your vinyl shower curtains by sprinkling Bicarbonate of soda directly on a clean damp sponge or brush. Vigorously scrub the shower curtains and then rinse clean. Hang up to dry.
Oven / cooking trays
Simply shake bicarbonate of soda directly onto the dirty greasy area , then spray white vinegar on top of the bicarbonate . Leave the area for at least 30minutes (some prefer left overnight) before washing rinsing off with hot water and a sponge.
Bicarbonate of sodas alkaline properties mixed with white vinegar acidic properties will make a fizz sound , breaking down the grime and grease in your oven.
In hard to reach areas, spray an old toothbrush with White Vinegar and scrub .
Carpets
Sprinkle bicarbonate of soda liberally all over your carpets , leave for a good 30minutes, before hoovering or sweeping up .
Bicarbonate of soda absorbs and neutralises odours that may be lingering in your carpets . Ideal for households with pets , children or if you have new chemical smelling carpets, this is an ideal option to help absorb and eliminate anything that you do not want to re absorb or inhale.

Couch/ Sofa / Mattresses
Sprinke bicarbonate of soda directly on your couch , sofa or mattress . Leave for (10-15mins or longer if possible) before sweeping/ hoovering up . Patch test always first.

Smelly shoes / trainers
Simply spray a layer of bicarbonate of soda directly into your smelly shoes or trainers. Leave for (10-15mins) or overnight depending on the need!

Fridge
Mouldy smell coming from the fridge , bicarbonate of soda is a quick and easy solution to elimate and absorb the nasty unwanted smells.
Simply place an opened box of bicarbonate of soda , or place some in a bowl and leave in the back of your fridge . For an extra cut open an organic lemon and leave in the fridge for a day or two .
